Being a student member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics offers a variety of benefits including helping to connect you with a mentor, up-to-date research and Foundation scholarships. Here are some easy ways to be active with your Academy student membership:

Contribute to the Student Scoop e-Newsletter

The Student Scoop is written exclusively by student Academy members to share tips on how to thrive as a dietetics student. Writing an article allows you to demonstrate your communication skills and network with other dietetics students across the globe.

Join a Dietetic Practice Group

As a student member, you are able to get involved in DPGs that focus on specific areas of practice and interests. DPG membership provides you access to webinars and networking opportunities with other members who share similar passions. Joining a DPG will help make you a well-rounded professional.

Become a Student Liaison

A student liaison helps recruit and retain student members. This volunteer opportunity will allow you to promote the nutrition and dietetics profession while developing leadership skills. Student liaisons have the chance to communicate and work as a team with a community of aspiring student members.

Apply for an ANDPAC or ACEND Student Representative Position

Be a voice for the student membership population by applying to be on the Student Advisory Committee and help advance the Academy’s public policies. You will gain skills in collaboration and communication as well as further develop your leadership qualities.

Attend FNCE® as a Student Host

Student hosts interact with other Academy members at FNCE® and in exchange for your volunteer assistance, you can receive complimentary registration.

The more you give, the more you get out of your membership. It is up to you how to utilize your membership, but with numerous opportunities to get involved, it is easy to stay an active member. If you are not already a student member, click here to become a student member today.
