Thank you for your interest in the Food & Nutrition Magazine® communications and media internship rotation. Please note that the magazine rotation has been discontinued; however, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation offers a dietetic internship rotation to local and distant dietetic interns. This rotation provides interns with the opportunity to learn about Academy and Foundation programming and engaging our membership. This diverse rotation is anchored with the Foundation and includes learning experiences through a wide range of projects with other staff preceptors across Foundation and Academy departments, as opportunities are available. The focus of this rotation includes an array of business and communication skills, including professional attributes, interpersonal communications, and self-efficacy, as well as the opportunity to learn how to be an effective telecommuter.

Rotation lengths range depending on intern needs and availability, with typical experiences between 64-280 hours (2-14 weeks). Experiences vary from intern to intern, and may include the following:

  • Innovations in nutrition and visioning for the future of the profession
  • Public health programming including domestic and global work
  • Research
  • Member engagement through traditional and online communications
  • Governance
  • Publications
  • Project management
