I truly enjoy entertaining and sharing meals with family and friends. Often, I find myself brewing coffee for my coffee lovers, while I am heating up individual cups of warm water in the microwave for my tea lovers — resulting in everyone consuming their beverages at different times. I was excited to see if the Hamilton Beach FlexBrew® Trio Coffee Maker could help my entertaining consistency without cluttering my countertop.Coffee, Tea or Both? The product has a 12-cup brewing system on the left side and a single-serve 10-ounce brew system on the right side. The single-serve side is adjustable for a cup or travel mug, with a removable cup rest that doubles as a storage container for single-serve pods or to hold the brew basket. Thanks to the single-serve grounds basket, I can brew pods or use coffee grounds. The pod-piercing needle is removable for easy cleaning, which helps prevent clogging. Each side has an easy-fill water reservoir with separate windows, as well as options to brew at regular or bold strength. The machine has a programmable clock with two-hour “keep warm” cycle, automatic shutoff and automatic pause and serve, which is great for all my personal and entertaining needs.

I could tell right away that I would love the Hamilton Beach FlexBrew® Trio Coffee Maker. I like the white color with stainless steel accents, and the size is a perfect fit for my counter. Plus, it is lightweight, no assembly required and easy to clean before using.

When using the brew system brunch with friends (taking all COVID-19 precautions), I especially liked the separate reservoirs windows, so I did not overfill. I brewed with both sides at the same time to make coffee for my friends and tea for myself. One friend wanted decaf, which made the single brew side even more convenient. A single brew serving took almost the same amount of time as a full pot of coffee, which meant we all could enjoy our beverages at once.

This machine requires a filter for full pot brewing, which I do not prefer. The full carafe brewing is nice and quiet, while the single brew is a little noisy, but I still like the single brew option. I especially appreciate the programmable clock, which I know I will use each morning.

I would highly recommend the Hamilton Beach FlexBrew® Trio Coffee Maker to anyone who has limited counter space, has coffee and tea lovers in the house or doesn’t like to commit to full pots of hot beverages. It is simple to use, easy to clean and accommodates both pods and standard grounds.
