Midnight Scoop

Ice cream is — and always will be — my absolute favorite dessert, which was why I was so excited to try the Midnight Scoop, an ice cream scoop designed by an aerospace engineer who dreamed of serving people ice cold ice cream while protecting wrists from injury.

The magic of the Midnight Scoop is in the curved handle. This unique design makes it much easier to scoop even the hardest ice cream. Instructions clearly state to hold the curved end of the scoop with the palm of your hand and “push” into the ice cream. This motion enables you to keep your wrists straight and protected while using larger muscles like your arms and chest. Even though this may sound like a real workout, it’s really not: it’s simple, quick and easy-to-use.

While using the Midnight Scoop, I realized that it could be great tool to help practice portion control. Ice cream is the definition of a treat to enjoy in moderation: once in a blue moon or for special occasions, not an entire half-gallon! The Midnight Scoop allowed me to scoop a uniform half-cup serving easily. Not to mention, because of the way the scoop functions, that proper portion-controlled serving looked very pretty too. And who doesn’t like a pretty dessert?

Although the Midnight Scoop is a little hefty on the wallet (about $50), it provides a lifetime warranty and promises you will never need to use another type of scoop again. Ice cream lovers rejoice! Midnight Scoop is with you for the rest of your life and will help protect your wrists from injury. This is especially good for those of you who suffer from chronic arthritis pain.
