Duralex Lys Square Bowls with Lids

Like other busy working moms, I’m always looking for meal prep shortcuts. I love to cook extra rice, pasta, chili, spaghetti sauce, soup and “recycle” them as leftovers later in the week. When I discovered these Duralex storage containers, I was a happy camper.

Manufactured in France, Duralex is, as the name implies, durable. The set comes with five bowls made of shock-resistant, clear tempered glass, plus lids in a beautiful shade of cornflower blue. Both the containers and lids are dishwasher safe.

Each glass container is square with rounded edges, and the set itself is stackable. The bowls nest neatly inside each other to save storage space. At a half-cup, the smallest bowl is, quite frankly, adorable. I used it to hold some tapenade dip after a party that I simply could not throw away.

The five-piece set includes bowls in the following sizes: ½-cup, 1-cup, 2-cup, 4-cup and 8-cup. The lids seem sturdier than storage containers I have used before. The bowls are microwave- and freezer-safe, which is a huge plus for me. I never advise microwaving anything in plastic, as the plastic can leach into food.

The bowls are perfect for storage, but are pretty enough to use as serving dishes, too. The largest container was perfect for a spinach, strawberry and feta salad I brought to a picnic.
